The iconic Great North Walk is an epic trail which begins in Sydney and winds it’s way north. This walks meanders through rare Blue Gum forests, traverses steep river gorges, cascading waterfalls and discovers weathered sandstone caves and quaint waterside communities. On our 3 day Pack-Free walk we have chosen our favourite section exploring the Berowra Waters and Hawkesbury regions. The park contains much evidence of its traditional owners’ the Darug people time with some rock carvings and cave paintings which can be seen. This area is also a haven for wildlife with an incredible 270 native animal species such as wallabies and the threatened spotted-tailed quoll.
This walk can be extended as a 5-day walk continuing along the trail taking in a section of the Central Coast and Watagans before finishing in the Hunter Valley wine region. Click here to find out more.
